As the school year winds down, it can become more of a challenge to keep students focused in the classroom. However, the end of the year allows us as teachers the unique opportunity to leave one last, meaningful impression on our students. What will we do with that opportunity? If there is one word to keep in mind for the last weeks of school it is teach. By participating in this module, you will have the opportunity to design an EOY plan that will provide the structure, tools, and mindset that students need to thrive. From teacher planning to executing to student learning and doing, we will work through how to help students maximize content learning until that final bell rings.
This module strives to serve as a guide for learning and designing EOY approaches. We will consider:
Simple strategies for maintaining organization and management
Where routines have a place in the classroom
Strategies to engage physics students in the content mastery
Meaningful teaching practices which drive physics instruction
Student reflection activities and projects which empower physics students to continue their investment in physics and science moving forward
